神经内科二级教授/医师,博士生导师。国家杰出青年科学基金获得者、天津市特聘教授。天津医科大学总医院副院长、神经内科癫痫亚专业组长、天津市免疫学研究所副所长、天津市神经病学研究所副所长。中华医学会神经病学分会脑血管病学组委员、中国医师协会神经修复分会常委、中国免疫学会神经免疫分会常委、中国研究型医院学会专委会副主委、天津市免疫学会副理事长。担任Journal of Neuroimmunology副主编。获“科学探索奖(医学科学奖)”、”美国心脏协会(AHA)科学家发展奖”、“天津市津门医学英才”、“天津市优秀青年研究生指导教师”等奖励。
科研成果:
发现了脑疾病患者骨髓造血系统发生髓系增生,可决定神经炎症进展和演变,为通过靶向骨髓造血系统控制自身免疫和神经系统炎性损伤,带来了创新治疗的新理念(Sci Transl Med 2021;Cell 2022);发现了自然杀伤(NK)细胞可感知脑内的异常神经信号,通过识别MHC-I类分子损伤脑内DCX+细胞,造成持续性神经损伤,为靶向脑内炎症改善脑疾病长期预后提供了新靶点(Nat Neursoci 2016,2021;J Exp Med 2020);发现脑卒中可通过激活“神经-内分泌-免疫”网络导致卒中后感染并发症和动脉粥样硬化形成加速,从而为防治脑卒中后的感染并发症和卒中再发,提供了新策略(Immunity 2017,2024)。
基于以上发现,刘强教授提出了“靶向骨髓造血系统修饰免疫应答,从而回归免疫稳态,控制神经炎症”这一新理念,主持开展了靶向骨髓免疫,干预脑卒中(MIRACLE: NCT05154734)和神经免疫疾病(BEAT NMO: NCT05369351,BRICS: NCT05792462)等多中心临床研究。研发了靶向骨髓免疫新靶点的全人源化BAFFR抗体(专利号:202311250418.3)和CAR-T细胞(专利号:20231321640.8),并筹备IND申报,有潜力使更多患者获益。这些成果揭示了重大脑疾病的免疫机制,使神经免疫学理论取得了新进展,形成了“临床问题—基础研究—临床转化”的闭环研究范式,为脑疾病的创新治疗提供了新手段。
